Elisabeth and Jean-Pierre Bres were born in the heart of Haute-Provence
region in the South of France into families that grew and used lavender
products as an important part of everyday life. Their parents and
grandparents passed on to them the traditional techniques of the
cultivation of lavender and its distillation into essential oils.
Their mutual passion for lavender led them to think about
creating a line of lavender creams and oils from the region's fine
lavender essences. From the start they were dedicated to using only the
purest and traditional of Provencal lavender essences--especially since
they saw that that the marketplace was swamped with all sorts of
so-called "lavender" products.

These products often use cloned lavender, lavandin or synthetic
lavender and don’t capture the fine fragrance or the aromatherapy
qualities of the genuine article. Thus, like French wine makers who
seek only the best grapes to make the finest wines, Jean-Pierre and
Elisabeth envisioned a line of products based on pure, Fine Lavender
(Lavandula Angustifolia) that would offer consumers all the cosmetic
and therapeutic benefits.
They developed "Cote Lavande", based on the ancient
art of aromatherapy which uses lavender essences from natural plant
sources to heal the body. Cote Lavande products combine traditional
Haute-Provence craftsmanship with current advances in technology and
body care to truly make a difference in the way one looks and feels.
 | Fine Lavender is a special plant that only grows above 2,600 feet and
only on dry and stony ground. Combined with a mild, sunny climate and
the knowledge of the producers, it has, like fine wine, been given its
own certification by the French government. Labeled "A.O.C."
(Appellation Origine Contrôlé), this certificate is a guarantee of an
exceptional, high quality product. |
At Cote Lavande, we believe that the AOC lavender oil from
Haute-Provence in each Cote Lavande bath and body product promotes a
beneficial response for the body and mind and is an important part of
stress-free living on a day-to-day basis. All of the other ingredients
we use in Cote Lavande are selected as well to be rich in vitamins and
minerals and to contribute valuable benefits to our products.
Naturally none of our formulations are tested on
animals, nor do we use any animal ingredients in them. And of course we
never use artificial fragrances or fillers in our products.
We also believe that we need to do our part in
protecting Mother Nature's offerings so all our packaging is composed
of recyclable materials such as plastic, glass and aluminum. |
